드로잉룸(dR)은 2019년 4월 서울, 용산에 설립하여 2022년 4월 종로 서촌으로 이전하였으며, 시대성과 작가정신을 지향하는 현대미술의 친숙한 경험 전달을 위한 상업 전시 공간이다.
dR은 동시대 작가의 시각 언어를 이끌고 움직이는(draw) 매개체 역할에 충실하고자 한다. 대중에게 예술가들이 제시한 아이디어를 연결하여 시너지를 만드는 공간이자 새로운 취향을 발견할 수 있도록 지지하는 조력자로 미술시장의 다양성을 추구한다. 국내 작가의 해외 진출 및 해외 작가의 국내 전시 기획과 다양한 프로젝트를 통한 작가와의 협업 및 프로모션으로 상호간의 성장을 도모한다.
2019년 부터 진행된 dR 연간 프로그램 <신진작가 지원 프로그램>은 신진작가 발굴 및 개인전 지원으로 신진작가들이 상업씬에서 활동할 수 있는 플랫폼을 제공하고자 한다.
drawingRoom (dR) is a commercial art gallery for contemporary art established in 2019 at Yongsan and relocated to Jongno, Seoul in 2022. It aims to embrace the spirit of the times and the artist's vision in the art scene. dR serves as a platform that draws contemporary artists to connect new ideas with the public and promote diversity in the art market.
Our strategy involves promoting artists through exhibition planning and collaborative projects. Through our annual program titled <Supporting Emerging Artists' Solo Exhibition>, we aim to further discover and support new artists by providing a platform to showcase their works. We believe that providing emerging artists an opportunity to express and share their innovative perspectives is imperative in allowing us to experience the spirit of the contemporary art scene.
